Girl Scout cookies have arrived! One of my former students dropped off 5 boxes of cookies today!
1. Each person has his or her own box of cookies.
2. You do not have to share.
3. When they're gone, they're gone - no going into anyone else's box!
4. Trades are allowed only when agreed upon by all parties.
It might seem harsh, but it must be done to keep order.
I live with a husband and three boys and we don't need a reenactment of Lord of the Flies in my kitchen because somebody ate the last Thin Mint!
Now, I'm off to eat a Samoa:)

I LOVE your GS cookie rules especially #3! It's only me, my husband and one son in our house but these rules would work here too (especially #3!)
ReplyDeleteI hope it helps! My middle son actually hides his box because he's afraid someone (dad) will cave and not follow rule #3!
DeleteThis made me laugh . . . but I can totally see why you'd need the rules in place! :) Newest follower (found you through Fifth in the Middle's state link up). :)
ReplyDeleteAlways nice to meet another VA blogger! I'm so glad to have found that link up:)

That is too funny! My husband loves the same kind I do (tagalongs), so we have to have our own box (although I shouldn't say that Walmart DOES have a generic version of that and thin mints!).
ReplyDeleteFound your blog via Fifth in the Middle's state linkup. I'm in central VA teaching 2nd grade. Glad I found your blog!

GS Cookie season already? Yum! I worked at a GS sleep away camp for a few summers in college. Ever wonder where all the unsold GS cookies end up? Yep, at GS summer camps! Mmmm, those were some fun and yummy summers, where I gained nothing short of 10 pounds each 9-week session!!! I've got slightly better self-control now. I think...

Well, my family is doing its part to ensure very few boxes end up at summer camp:)
DeleteYou can have your samosas, but I'd fight for a thin mint!

I love these rules! I have a hubby, 3 boys and 2 brand new twin girls. Next year, with 2 boys being 10 and 5, these rules will come in handy!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing!
